Data Protection Officer

Privacy Policy and Privacy Statement

Please note that Poste Italiane S.p.A., with registered office in Rome, Viale Europa 190, 00144, in its capacity as Data Controller, will process the personal data you provide for the purposes of registering on the website www.poste.it, , as well as for the purposes of providing further postal services made available through the website, in accordance with the applicable legislation on the protection of personal data.

Pursuant to Article 13 et seq. of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, Poste Italiane S.p.A. informs the user who consults the Poste Italiane website, www.poste.it, about the purposes and methods of processing of their personal data. If the user decides to register on the website www.poste.it and use the related services free of charge, they will receive, concerning the processing of the data provided for these purposes, a further Privacy Statement pursuant to Article 13 et seq. of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. It should be noted that the Privacy Statement is provided exclusively in relation to the data provided for consultation of the site of Poste Italiane and, therefore, is not provided in relation to consultation of other websites accessed by the user via links. Finally, we inform you that on this site contains the extended Privacy Statement pursuant to Article 13 et seq. of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, hereinafter GDPR.

The consultation of this site by the user, involves the necessary release of information of the nature of personal data. Failure to provide such data will make it impossible to use the services made available on www.poste.it. Your personal data will be processed by persons authorised to process them (persons responsible) designated respectively by the Data Controller or by the Data Processors, who operate under the direct authority of the same based on the instructions received.

Your personal data will be processed using computer/electronic tools for purposes strictly necessary to the consultation of the site www.poste.it, as well as for purposes related and/or instrumental to it. The data will be processed using tools and methods designed to ensure the confidentiality and security of the data, in compliance with the provisions of applicable legislation on the protection of personal data.

Your personal data will be processed on the basis of the contractual relationship accepted during registration, and possibly also on the basis of the legitimate interest of the Data Controller and/or to fulfil a legal obligation. Your personal data may also be processed for specific purposes if you have given a clear and explicit consent to do so. 

The processing of your personal data will be carried out in such a way as to ensure adequate security and confidentiality and to prevent unauthorised access to or use of both your personal data and the tools used to process them. Therefore, your personal data will be processed and stored in compliance with principles of necessity, data minimisation and storage limitation, by adopting technical and organisational measures that are adequate for the level of risk of the processing and for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the personal data are processed, and in any case for the period established by law.

The processing relates to your personal data provided during registration on the website www.poste.it, for the purposes and in the manner already specified.
Also, navigation data may be processed: The computer systems and software procedures used to operate this website acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. This information is not collected to be associated with data subjects, but by its very nature, through processing and association with data held by third parties, could allow users to be identified. This category of data includes IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users connecting to the site, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) of requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in reply, the numerical code indicating the status of the response from the server (successful, error, etc..) and other parameters regarding the user’s operating system and computer environment. These data are only used to obtain anonymous statistical information on the use of the site and to check its proper functioning and are kept for the time defined by the reference legislation. The data could be used to ascertain responsibility in the event of suspected computer crimes against the website.

In addition to the subjects authorised to process (appointed) by Poste Italiane S.p.A., some processing of your personal data may also be carried out, following communication, by the companies of the Poste Italiane Group or by any Data Processors, exclusively for the purposes already described. In the latter case, the Data Controller shall give the Data Processors adequate operating instructions, with particular reference to the adoption of security measures, to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and security of the data. The user's data may also be communicated to the judicial, administrative or other public authority entitled to request them, in the cases provided for by law.

The user has the right to obtain access to the following information from Poste Italiane: the purposes of processing, categories of personal data, recipients or categories of recipients to whom personal data have been or will be disclosed, the expected storage period of personal data or, if not possible, the criteria used to determine this period, the origin of personal data, the existence of a profiling process and information on the logics used.
You also have the right to:
  • have your personal data rectified, if inaccurate;
  • have your personal data supplemented, if incomplete;
  • obtain the limitation of personal data processing (in this case, data are processed only with your
  • consent, unless for necessary storage);
  • object to the processing of such data
  • obtain the deletion of your data ('right to be forgotten');
  • obtain the portability of data, or the transmission of your personal data by a Controller to another, where technically feasible.
